Importance of On-Page SEO
On-Page SEO explains to the search engine algorithm about what the webpage is about on the basis of the content available on it. On the basis of the analysis, it works on ranking the website in a relevant Google search.
Over time, search engines like Google have started giving more preference to on-page SEO as compared to off-page SEO. That’s because Google wants to provide users with the best user experience out there.
On-Page Techniques That Help Search Engine Ranking Positions (SERPs)
In this section, we will discuss what is considered as beneficial on-page SEO techniques to help with your brand’s search engine rankings.
Webpage Loading Speed
The user is impatient. Also, not everyone has access to the latest 5G internet speed. Keeping this in mind, Google pays close attention to how much time it is taking for the webpage to load. The better the speed, the better the chance of a higher SERP. That’s why, it is important that the webpage is not data heavy so that it loads quickly.
Keyword Density
With so millions of websites on the internet, it is not possible for employees at companies like Google to manually check each webpage for relevance. That’s why, search engines have an algorithm that scans each webpage to understand what it is about. One of the ways it does that is by scanning the content present on the webpage, and within the content, it looks at the various keywords present on the webpage. If a specific keyword phrase is present multiple times on the webpage, it means that the webpage is likely relevant when a user searches for that keyword.
But, do keep in mind that while it is important to have your main keyword to be present at least twice on the webpage, we do not want to have keyword stuffing. Keyword stuffing is when a particular keyword phrase is mentioned so many times on the webpage from an SEO perspective that it 1.) ruins customer experience and 2.) counts as spam in Google’s algorithm.
Meta Titles and Descriptions
Meta titles and descriptions are the first things that a user sees about the webpage in a Google search. Hence, what it says plays an essential role in how the webpage will rank in Google searches.
Image Optimization
Images add a visual appeal to a webpage. Hence, having good quality images (while keeping in mind webpage speed) along with SEO friendly image titles and alt tags help boost your website’s SERP.
